Nadia at 29 Weeks and 1 Day
Just a quick note to satisfy family who have been asking for a picture of Nadia, to see how pregnant she looks. The baby is constantly moving, and all check-ups are going very well.

Let it Hail, let it hail, let it hail...

Nothing much to report. The Calgary Stampede has arrived and we have planned one night this week to enjoy the chuckwagon and grandstand show. We're more excited about our vacation starting on the 15th (Vancouver and Victoria). Otherwise, we had a bit of a thunderstorm in Calgary today. There was a tornado watch issued, so our eyes were looking toward the skies. Fortunately, no damage to report here and we're passing on some pictures of the excitement.

2006 Annual Star-B-Q

We returned home to Calgary after an enjoyable couple of nights at this year's Star-B-Q.
We arrived on Friday evening and the field was busy with activity. We quickly touched-base with people from the previous year and introduced ourselves to new people. Unfortunately, the first evening was humid so most telescopes and binoculars collected dew thus were unable to look toward the sky. As well, in the middle of the night there was a thunder storm that skirted us to the North, which made for some interesting sky viewing.
During the next day, we joined my family for the afternoon at Swan Lake, West of Caroline, so we could take the kids fishin in Grandpa's boat. It was a gorgeous afternoon and we all had a good time.
We arrived back at the Star-B-Q just in time for the pig roast, and the sun to set for the night (it was barely dark even at 11:30PM). Regardless, Nadia and I attended an informal binocular tour where a veteran astronomer showed us so many wonders of the night sky. Truly, their experience was proven when they took a laser pointer and pointed it toward an object in the sky that is invisible to the naked eye but was exactly on target when you looked through the binoculars. Ethan kept himself busy by making friends with another boy who was there with his family. It was a great day.
Now, we're back at home and ready for a nice sleep in our own bed. tomorrow we'll likely take Ethan to the Tuscany Club so he can run around the fountain and enjoy the warm weather.
